LSL Management Tip #14: Interview Skills Part II

Hello Readers,

In this new post we would like to present you additional advice about INTERVIEW SKILLS. Hope you will enjoy the reading 😉

We have all had to go through the, sometimes, painful process of having an interview. Today we will provide you with some insight on how to improve your interview skills and make yourself more attractive to various interviewers.

The first tip is a centralized idea to any productive conversation…. DON’T TALK TOO MUCH! Often, especially when not readily prepared for certain questions, we will talk too much and end up rambling. This shows that you are unprepared for the interview and may cause you to say things that the interviewer needs not to know.

Secondly, engage yourself in asking questions to show sincerity for the position. Interviewers always ask if you have any questions and we too often answer “no”.  This is the wrong answer.

INTERVIEW

Before taking an interview, prepare a list of questions that can be asked during your interview. This not only shows sincere interest, but also can readily educate you on whether you are truly interested in the chosen position.

Apart from prepared questions, listen throughout the entirety of the interview and inquire further into what is being said by your interviewer.

This will create a nice flow to the conversation and will gain a level of professionalism. Using these two tips will help to make a more professional impact on interviewers and will ultimately lead to callbacks/job offers.
