Social Time for your Team

Social Time for your Team

Dear Readers,

Did you already have the feeling that the cohesiveness of your team is a bit down?

Did you feel that sometimes some team members do not even talk to each other?

Here are some advice we recommend you to apply if you wish to build a productive TEAM.
A easy way to involve people together is to take them away from the workplace for some social events.
Team building
Coffee chats: First thing to do in the morning enjoy a nice coffee with the team, everyone sit together and chat for 30 min every week or two week. The only rule: Do not talk about work! This moment is only for the team members to relax before to continue their work.

Lunch: Everybody likes to eat, therefore invite the entire team for a lunch and it will help everyone to relax and build some familiarities.

Barbecues and potlucks: Try to arrange this event on an occasional basis and barbecue can be a great time for a team to work together and relax together. Barbecues can be an opportunity to invite other guests and explore other friendship. If you do not want to organize a barbecue, just ask the person to bring some dishes that everybody can share as it is known that sharing a meal can help reduce the stress a team often feels in getting its work done.

Special occasions: These are team get together to celebrate specific events: birthday, anniversary, celebrating success of a team member…

Dinner: Sometimes, the team might work very late and they would be very grateful if everybody could go to dinner after.

Reward outings: Here the main purpose is to organize a team building event and reward the team for achieving an outstanding level of performance. Here do not hesitate to include spouses and significant others to enhance this event.

Recreational activities: As a reward, this is a sports-type activity that the whole team can enjoy. You can also organize a team picnic and do not forget to choose an activity where everyone is comfortable. Therefore, do not push sports when you don’t have a sports-minded, active people.

And you, when is your next team building event?
